Architecture & Design

Selected projects, professional experience, workshops, and exhibitions across architecture and design.

Observation and analysis lead into drawing, testing, detailing, and making. I use these processes to understand how a project can respond to its site, existing structure, program, material conditions, and patterns of use. Across scales—from housing and urban contexts to buildings, interiors, and objects—the work moves between conceptual development and the practical demands of drawings, details, approvals, construction, and production.

Master’s thesis — architectural and urban design research

Reclaiming TOKİ: Transforming Social Housing in Turkey

Role
Independent thesis project
Institution
Politecnico di Milano
Year
2019

Developed as my MSc thesis at Politecnico di Milano, Reclaiming TOKİ examined how existing social housing environments in Turkey could be transformed by responding more closely to their socio-cultural and physical conditions. The project followed a three-part methodology: analysis across four scales to identify problems and possible levels of intervention; a pilot project to test design strategies; and a toolkit that translated those strategies into adaptable tools for different TOKİ settlements. Moving between analysis and design, the thesis used the pilot project not as an isolated proposal, but as a way to develop a broader system for rethinking existing housing environments.

Design studio

The Memorial Museum of Jewish Culture

Role
Collaborative project
Institution
Politecnico di Milano
Location
Prague, Czech Republic
Year
2017

Developed as a design studio project at Politecnico di Milano, this work examined Prague’s historic Josefov district through its urban form, architectural fabric, and cultural history before developing an intervention for the St. Agnes Convent. Working collaboratively, we studied how the district’s physical transformations remained connected to the social and cultural identity of the Jewish community and used that research to inform the architectural proposal. The research developed through the project was later published in the paper “The Ancient Josefov Jewish Quarter in Prague: An Example of Urban Island.”

03

Architectural design

Villa AA

Role
Project Leader
Location
Ankara, Turkey
Year
2020

At KM Design Studio, I led the concept and schematic design of a detached house in Ankara for a family of five. The design organized the ground floor around shared and social uses and the upper level around more private family spaces, while the building’s north–south orientation and sectional relationship to the sloping site shaped its access, outdoor connections, and differing two- and three-storey elevations. The project received municipal approval and progressed into construction.

04

Historic renovation and interior design

Villa Poggioventoso

Role
Architect & Interior Designer
Location
Riparbella, Tuscany, Italy
Year
2019

For the renovation of a historic two-storey building near Riparbella, Tuscany, our team developed an interior concept that connected the house to the seasonal rhythms of its rural setting. Individual spaces were associated with locally significant moments of the year—planting, growing, harvesting, and resting—which informed their atmosphere, materials, and furnishings. Working as part of the design team, I contributed to concept and layout development, schematic architectural drawings, and the selection of materials and furniture across the project.

05

Interior design and construction

Rarefinds Boutique

Role
Independent project
Location
Maxx Royal Hotel, Antalya, Turkey
Year
2021

For a 32-square-meter boutique within the Maxx Royal Hotel in Antalya, I developed the interior from concept and schematic design through detailing and construction. The design translated the brand’s identity into the spatial layout, material palette, custom display elements, and storage solutions, while transparent façades increased visibility along the hotel’s main circulation axis. I also supervised the project on site through construction, which was completed in 2021.

06

Product and object design

Room 2112

Role
Co-founder & Designer
Location
Milan, Italy
Year
2017–2019

I co-founded Room 2112 in Milan as a small design practice focused on functional handmade felt objects for everyday use. We developed products through an iterative process of concept design, prototyping, and making, translating simple everyday needs into objects that could be produced at a small scale. In 2017, the work was presented at Isola Design District during Milan Design Week.
